About Me.

Hi, I’m Luke Chapman. My fitness journey didn’t start with a perfect plan or a natural gift for athletics; it started in high school, where I spent years trying to figure things out through trial and error.

Even while I was at MacEwan University earning my degree in Social Work, I found myself hitting walls. I was putting in the effort, but without a deep understanding of human biology and nutrition, I couldn't reach the goals I had set for myself. I knew there had to be a better, more scientific way to see results.

Everything changed in 2018 when I moved to Sundre. I decided to stop guessing and start studying. I immersed myself in the science of the human body, eventually earning my dual certifications as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Today, I combine my background in social work with my expertise in fitness to offer a coaching style that is both empathetic and evidence-based. I know what it feels like to be stuck, and I’m dedicated to ensuring my clients have the knowledge and support I wish I’d had when I started. I’m constantly furthering my education through NASM to ensure you’re getting the most effective, up-to-date guidance possible.

Education

2014-2018

Social Work
Macewan University

The Social Work Diploma from MacEwan University is a practitioner-focused credential that prepares you for immediate entry into the social services field. The program emphasizes a generalist approach, blending social justice theory with practical skills in crisis intervention, case management, and ethical decision-making.

With a strong focus on Indigenous perspectives and community diversity, the curriculum is reinforced by extensive field placements that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world advocacy. As a graduate, you are eligible for Registered Social Worker (RSW) status in Alberta, signifying your readiness to support vulnerable populations across diverse clinical and community settings.

2025-2026

Personal Training
NASM

The NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification is widely considered the industry "gold standard" for its evidence-based approach to fitness. Its hallmark is the Optimum Performance Training (OPT™) model, a systematic framework that guides clients through five distinct phases: stabilization, strength endurance, muscular development, maximal strength, and power.

Unlike certifications that focus purely on "working out," NASM emphasizes human movement science and corrective exercise. You are trained to perform postural and movement assessments (like the Overhead Squat Assessment) to identify muscle imbalances and design programs that prevent injury while improving performance.

2025-2026

Nutrition Coaching
NASM

The NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) is one of the most recognized non-clinical nutrition certifications in the fitness industry. It is designed to bridge the gap between "knowing what to eat" and "helping clients actually do it."

In January 2026, NASM launched a "reimagined" version of the program, adding more interactive tools, updated science (including a focus on trending topics like GLP-1 medications and longevity), and enhanced business resources.
